These are two really cool sport things my friend told me about. Bacicly in pakour you run through parks and go through things in crazy ways like if your going by monkey bars would would flip through them and dodge them. Free run is doing crazy stunts like jumpin from a two story building and getting back and running and doing building jumps/ wall kickes it's amazing to watch i've never done it but I want to try some of the more bacic things.

I do amateur parkour/freerunning. The only difference between them is freerunning has no destination, parkour is about getting to the destination in the most direct route possible.(fastest way to your destination is a straight line, comprende?)

i actual do some amateur parkour, haven't done much in the way of free running though, but yea so far i dont have any places to practice wall runs, cat leaps etc so i'm stuck in amateur for a while to come seeing as the park nearby was shut down :/ but i'm working on a few types of jumps and such like a turn vault and kong @ tak - start small...and stay away from bar walking until youve got enough balance...they hurt to fall off of

Naoko: may I suggest Gold's Gym after-hours? that's where I practice wall-runs and such. I also have the benefit of going to saratoga every weekend, where I practice at the librry and stuff. also after hours. they have lots of random walls and benches there. oh, and drunk people, sometimes.

I never thought of that...only problem is I dont have a Gym close enough to go to...or any other store for that matter. but I've been using those wooden fences you see at small parks for some vaulting though i would love to see some actual bar railings to practice underbars and the like

The gold's gym near me also has a nice little stairwell next to one of the walls, that is very similar in structure to a large fire exit. Oh, trees make good wall-run practice as well, because if you feel you start to fall, there's usually a limb you can grab or something. Still, despite my variety of practice locations, I'm no gymnast, so some of the cooler things are difficult for me. Physics also gets in the way, sometimes.
