i liked twilight before it was cool...yeahyeahyeah. TWILIGHT, OMG!#$! No offense to the Twifreaks out there. x] Stephenie Meyer's work is really good, though. Beyond the "Mrs. Cullens", millions of fan RPGs, and suckish movie, I thought the Twilight series was pretty good. Kinda lost interest in it after it hit big, though. =/ I remember first reading it in seventh grade. [freshman now] The storyline and creativity was great; and to think it all came from a dream. :] Anyone else have an input?

I've heard of this before but never had the time to read it. Apparently, I should.
Would you recommend Twilight to the casual reader (like me)?

They're more directed towards the girls I guess, for the love story part. But now that it has gotten big, I know a few guys to read it and say that they loved it- just never gave it the chance. I think anyone could read it, you just have to be into the whole blood-thirsty love suspenseful book theme. But if you are into just about anything, go for it. x]

I remember stealing the books one after the other from my friend, they were a great read, again like Stellar i liked the creativity in it and loved the story line. Which raises a big question: why does everyone hate the second book, I liked all of the books, the only somewhat letdown was the last book in my opinion (then again I'm almost never happy with ANY ending writers throw at me) but the second book really opened up a lot of opportunities I for the story. Granted I haven't read New Moon in quite a while now, I don't see what the huge deal is, my friends went out and bought every book except that one. It's sad yes but it was very well played on Meyers' part. That aside, the movie is something that i wish i hadn't seen, not for the fact that it wasn't that great but because it ruined the pre-rendered images i had created on my own. Overall, a great series in my opinion.

I read all the books...it's not that bad I love it but I'm the only one in my family that loves it....my brothers hate it :/ well, the little one won't understand it but my older brother keeps mocking it >.> I really want to watch the movie but no one else likes it so I can't all three of us have to like to watch it!!

There's no such thing as liking a book before it's popular. Unpopular books don't get sold in book stores because they flopped.
Anyway, I read all the books and I read "The Host." I love the Twilight series and actually the 4th book is my favorite (unlike most people.) It was awesome.
"The Host" is better than all the Twilight books combined though.
I own all the books and the movie.

It can hardly be called a vampire book. I mean come on people the vampires sparkle in the sunlight and thats why they dont go out during the day.

@ C'thulhu - its just a new take on a vampire, its actually pretty inventive for some things like the whole shimmer thing

Never was a real fan of that but then again I've not read many of those kind of vamp books.

Lets just say, I read seventeen pages, shook my head, totally abandoned it, and decided that I wouldn't waste anymore time wasting braincells.
