The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass
Anybody else read these three masterpieces?
It's been a really[/i] long time since I read these, and I don't remember how they ended, but other than that they were REALLY good

Ohhhhh yeah those were FANTASTIC books ... I read them at least a year ago, and I'm also suffering the problem of forgetting how they ended. Well, I do remember part of how the first book ended when Lyra was about to enter a different world. Personally, I was a fan of the first and second books, while the third one had me snoozing off once in a while. Still, though, they're great books. I have the movie but haven't had the chance to watch it yet.

I can't for the life of me remember ANYTHING about the third book. I may have never read it.
The first is my favorite.

The third book (from what I recall) was basically Lyra and Will walking in a different world with creatures that had wheels as their "feet" and helped each other out a lot. The Amber Spyglass was used to detect something which those different creatures couldn't ... yeah I don't remember much.

Cars? I'd suggest re-reading the entire series.

well, if somebody never saw a car before, wouldn't you think they'd describe them as creatures with wheels for feet?
and with them traveling between different universes, it is highly possible.

Lyra and Will were able to communicate with those creatures, so they definitely weren't cars. Also, Will is from modern-day England so he would know what a car is anyway.
