Here's a pretty straightforward poll. Which free forum provider do you prefer? InvisionFree or ProBoards? I voted ProBoards for several reasons. - The first online messageboard I participated in (when I was 10 years old) was a ProBoards site. I have been hooked to it since.
- ProBoards forums generally have a greater variety of colors and coding than InvisionFree forums, which tend to be white and more "business-like."
- I have administered boards on both website services, but ProBoards is definitely easier for me to customize (adding codes and images) than InvisionFree.
Please provide your thoughts.

Proboards is good if you if you like easy administration. I like SMF the best, mostly because of all the options you have for it, and if you understand it's source code, there's a lot more capabilities.

www.zetaboards.com does have good options, however Proboards is only good for people who's new to the forums-administrating. Advanced users will move on either IPB, or other free-hosting sites.

I haven't used SMF, which might explain why I'm not discussing it at the moment. ;D I checked it out on Google but unfortunately I am getting an "Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Page." Could you tell me some of the options for SMF? www.zetaboards.com does have good options, however Proboards is only good for people who's new to the forums-administrating. Advanced users will move on either IPB, or other free-hosting sites. Why is ProBoards only good for people who is new to forum adminstering? I'm just curious, as there are many new administrators who head to other forum providers as well. When you say IPB, you mean InvisionFree, right?

IPB is a forum that costs money. IF is InvisionFree.
I just tried out SMF, it was best hosting I used, though it requires a FTP account. If you don't know what it is, google about it.

I don't think so ... but I could be wrong. It's been a year since I checked the homepage for Invisionfree.

Simple Machines requires you to have FTP account - I do have one, I can help but it wouldn't be "megachillax.net"

I used to use InvisonFree. But then when I heard about Forumotion.com, I switched to it, but I think that Forumotion is better, because you can do more, in the admin CP, eg. install mods, announcements in forums, reputation, Etc.

What features stand out for Zetaboards?
(Just curious, that's all, since I haven't used that provider.)

Spam is more prevalant on Invisionfree but yes the admin functions are great. Vbulletin costs money but is also a great service
