You are allowed to switch your username. You just did it (Bostonfan -> Mongoose).

Oh, your display name can be changed at anytime. Your username is constant, though, and there's no way to change it (I can't think of a reason why I would want to change my username anyway). That's a feature of ProBoards.

Why do you want to change your username? The only reason a username exists is for Private Messaging and logging in the forum. The display name can be changed at any time, which is great in my opinion. ;D

True, but if you set your computer to have you logged in forever, there isn't a need for that.

Actually, whenever you change your display name, it doesn't affect your log-in name - if you register a new account, for example, i0wny0u, and when you want to change your display name, go to your settings and change it. The user will still have to log in with "i0wny0u", though.

Why doesn't proboards let you change your username? InvisionFree does(actually, I think they merged with some other message board host)
I can understand why he'd want to change his username though.

On IF, only administrators may change member's names - there are no exception. You are referring to IPB.

ACTUALLY It lets the admin change it. I've run quite a few IF's in my day. I was really tired while tying that. Thank you, sir. ~Cake
