Thats a toughie...i have about 3 favorites right now. 1: Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Elven Lied and 3: Birdy the Mighty Decode. NGE is a very VERY unique/strange anime that is very thought provoking (or just plain confusing, watch the commentary explanation thing from directors...it makes much more sense afterwards). Elven Lied is a morbid love story that was extremely close to being too cruel to watch. and Birdy is something different that was rather predictable at times but was still a fairly nice anime...1st season is better than the second in my opinion. Not very into the whole naruto thing, i read manga more than i watch anime but bleach was kinda interesting (even though i went back to the manga)

Elfen Lied is my favorite. again, never expected to see it brought up here. Outlaw Star was AWESOME, NGE is one of the few posters I have in my room, I generally like the end credits to Final Fantasy Unlimited (VIVID is a great song) let's see, I watched the various dragonball series, bleach is good, and I liked naruto until it went mainstream, and the english translation voices killed the characters for me. same with bleach, actually. I enjoyed Chobits. It was sort of a romantic comedy for nerds. Inuyasha was the series that made me look at anime as different from cartoons, though. Gundam Wing was epic. Digimon, pokemon, the original yugioh(their spinoffs were horrible) Negima. That's all I feel are worth mention right now.

death note...somehow i just dont particularly care for it. I see it as a kid acting as God, it just doesnt appeal to me, though i picked up the first volume of the manga and i liked the smaller creative touches it had like with the drawer that Light put the notebook in. But the biggest anime for me was probably NGE, but even now i can't say i fully understand all of the symbolism going on so its still a bit of a puzzler. and Serial Experiments Lain was starting to make me go a little insane trying to keep up with it...it was interesting but after the 4th or 5th episode i just could NOT get what was going on and as a final note i think the only purpose of english dubs are to make it difficult to watch, voice acting was never an american talent (see: Video Games...with some exceptions) so why we cant just use subs is a little beyond me

I prefer dragonball dubbed. everything else, I'd go subbed, every time. ESPECIALLY excel saga. that's annoying enough without mixing up the voices(but in a good way?)

Would anyone happen to know about the NGE live action movie by any chance? It was announced a really long time ago, 5+ years, but I haven't heard anything on it since...

uh... What's the name? I happen to have a copy of End of Evangelion, which is not live action, and I'm trying to obtain Death/Rebirth. I've heard absolutely nothing about that aside from the fact that it exists, though.

I don't think it has a name yet, i've only seen teasers of it so it must still be in pre production or something. I just got word that ADV is fighting for the final rights so the production should start soon...i hope i've also heard that they're working on a third anime movie for the series. Is the End of evangelion the same as 1.0 you are (not) alone? I'm trying to get the order straight but I'm having trouble

I'm not sure, all I know is end of evangelion is exactly that: the end of evangelion. It's the two episodes they originally wanted to end the series with, but they released the last two episodes instead because they weren't finished with them. however, releasing them later as a movie had it's benefits. for example, they managed to get away with alot more in terms of nudity and violence, as well as completely tying it in to the religious undertones. have you seen EoE?

well, excuse the double post and complete thread necro, but HOLY HELL. Within the past two weeks, I watched every last episode of Code Geass. both seasons. It jumped so high onto my list of good anime that it's not even funny. I think it may even rival Elfen Lied. Now I know what all my anime friends were talking about, although "It's Good" is definitely an understatement. Definitely going to be Lelouch next time I go to a convention. Maybe I'll see some of you there? Genericon, anyone?

Actually I've never been to a convention before and I'm not entirely sure I really want to just because of the huge amount of people there.

I went to one last year it was pretty fun, it's also not an occward social situation because everyone has at least one common interest so it was actually pretty fun.
