I just can't believe that he has an ERA of 0.78 in 7 starts, yet only has a record of 4-2.
This speaks a lot about the Mets' poor run support every time Santana takes the mound. If you take a close look at all of his starts this year, 3 times he has left the game tied, and once he has left the game trailing by 1. So that's 4 games right there where a little more run support would've gotten him a couple of wins and avoid the losses he's gotten already.
The highest amount of earned runs he's allowed this year in a single start is 2. That tells you he is owning the NL right now. I say if he keeps this up, the Cy Young award will be his to lose.
His average run support for each start this year is 2.25. Zack Greinke, who is 7-1 with an ERA of 0.60, has a run support average of 4.84. If Santana had Greinke's run support, then he would've probably be 7-0 instead of 4-2. Also Roy Halladay, who is 7-1 with an ERA of 2.95, has a run support average of 7.83!!! So the Mets' offense need to be consistent every time Santana takes the mound.

I agree with you, AMP. Even though I'm not a Mets fan, I'm kind of disappointed at how such a talented - or possibly the MOST talented - pitcher in the major leagues gets supported. I don't mean fan support (he's definitely got that), but run support.
At least this can be the only good news that opposing teams get when they face Santana.

Right now he's not the best pitcher in the MLB this year. That title would go to Halladay!

Yeah they're saying he'll miss Wednesday's start, but might be ready to go on Saturday.
But right now, Santana is doing HORRIBLE against the Yankees so far today. Yankees are winning 6-0 so far and it's only the bottom of the 4th inning now. Santana is closing onto that 80-pitch mark!!!!

The Mets lost AGAIN with him on the mound. He wasn't that great in his last outing. If he doesn't recover to his former self, then Mets fans will have to see their playoff hopes disappear.

Yeah I have a strong feeling that they won't make the playoffs once again. The Phillies are too good of a team to let somebody like the Mets rally past them in the standings.
They have a LOT of work to do if they want to be a perennial playoff team.
