Is car racing a sport? I voted no, because it just involves people driving cars, which a LOT of people can already do. Please provide your thoughts.

All of you guys obviously have no idea what the sport is truly about. Yes I know they race around in circles. So what? Soccer players run back and forth, basketball players simply just shoot the ball and run. Those are just GENERAL first thoughts about different sports. Of course there's more to a sport than just it's general thoughts. It's an exciting sport. Like if you have a favorite basketball team, you would cheer for that team. Same in NASCAR- if you have a favorite driver, then you root for him. I could say a lot more things about car racing, but all of you are just biased against the thought of racing on a track... you have to really open up your minds before making an opinion....
Also Dan, it takes A LOT of talent to drive those cars... they're not ordinary cars like the ones your daddy drive. We're talking about over 8,000 horsepower here, and they have to drive for 500 laps in each race, while it's close to 100 degrees in the car. A lot of the drivers work out everyday, just like other athletes do. It's a physically demanding sport.

i am still not sure which 2 vote 4.
but wht happens differently each lap? besides the lead changes or crashes
in bball the shots arent the same. one time it could b a layup, then a 3 pt shot, then a block. different each time.
same in hockey, football, soccer, and baseball.
I need u 2 explain more so ik 4 sure if it is a sport

i voted yes because even tho i don't like it and it is boring to me it is still a sport because ik tht i could nvr do tht. I would probably b afraid 2 even try.
Just because something seems boring doesnt mean it isnt a sport. Take golf 4 example. tht is really boring 2 some ppl, but it is a sport.
Another activity tht ppl dont consider a sport is cheerleading. But they do some stunts tht could injure themselves if they make a mistake. they 2 r taking risks.

It is indeed a sport. And yeah, you don't have to like it at all. I do like golf too.

I find it fun to watch Tiger Woods that's it. And I find it relaxing when you can just play a round of golf with ppl alone on a nice, warm sunny day. Just talk and play. No stress.
