This thread is about this book series -- therefore, spoilers will exist for those who haven't read this yet. Read at your own risk.
I liked this series so much that I thought it deserved its own thread. All 12 books have been published several years ago, but the story of Darren as a vampire still lingers with me. I first read the book out of a recommendation of my teacher, and I've never looked back. My favorite book was probably the Killers of the Dawn book, because of what Steve Leopard did (if you read the book, you'll know what I'm talking about).

My friend told me about this series in 7th grade. We were doing a book project and he was doing it on the 1st 1. In 8th grade i remember him recommending the series so i went 2 the library and took out the 1st book. At 1st i didnt want 2 read it at night because i thought tht it would b 2 scary. It wasnt tht scary and it was really good. I then took out books and finished the whole series in a week. As i said b4 the 12th and final book dissapointed me. I didnt like how it ended. when u learn tht Mr. Tiny controls everything. and then when Darren goes back as a little person and stops all those events from happening 2 him. It kind of made the whole series pointless.
I also have a ?. In the last book it said tht if Darren stopped himself from going 2 c the meeting between Creepsley and Steve then some1 else would b in those events tht happened in the series. BUT WOULDNT THT mean tht it would b an never ending cycle where some1 goes thro all those events and then they stop themselves?

Probably lol. I never thought that Harkat would be Kurda Smalht. It was a weird way he found that out. And I would've liked to see a little more 'action' between Vancha and Gannon.

Did anyone hear of a movie coming out for this book? I read on a Darren Shan messageboard that Warner Bros. purchased the right to create the movie ... five years ago. If there's a movie made from this, I'd DEFINITELY be watching.

It would have, up until the point when somebody decided he WOULD kill the other guy.

That was a great book in my opinion. #5 was also OK (Trials of Death) because the different trials were interesting to read about.

Yeah, the ending was fine to me as well. Then I went online and found 100 & 1 reviews which denounced it.

Why was it boring?
It was interesting to me, actually, since I liked the part about going back in time.

yeah, I guess the ending kinda did make you wonder why you bothered to read all that if they decided it never happened...
It's like the ending to St. Elsewhere
