I thought up a crazy idea while listening to my trance music in 8th grade, idk if it's any good; let me know what you think!
Quick explanation, the title came from a saying in an old show where a man (host) would look through a small mirror frame and say "mirror mirror, oh mr. mirror, i see jimmy and carl" and so on with generic names. Those who were called left the room (or similar i cant entirely remember). and please don't ask about the names XD ok here we go!
Chapter 1: Bracing for Impact
Such a beautiful day today. The sun i shining, the breeze is refreshing with that old October Charm it has. What could possibly happen?
"Man, that was the easiest test I've ever had to take!"
"Yeah, easy for you Erik. I barely scraped passing with a 72! Next time I'm asking Atoli to help me study." I couldn't believe that he expected me to ace that test with his way of 'studying.'
For 3 hours straight I was at his house desperately trying to get a comprehensible answer out of him.
"Just because you don't understand pre-algebra..." he trailed off and put his hands in the air as if to surrender.
Hey. I'm Araki (ah-rah-key). Also known as the only one in my group of so called friends who can't understand math. That's Erik. Awkward, interesting, and an anomaly to us all. Short, sweet, and to the point: he's the most incoherent guy you could ever find. Sometimes he can be my best bud...and then there are those lovely moments that he's anything but.
"Aw c'mon give him a break. He already has enough problems up top as is."
"Well gee, at least I know I have loving friends like you to get me through life," I spat back rolling my eyes.
This one's Rachael. I'm still wondering why I even bother to try and hang out with her anymore.
"There for ya dude," Jason muttered.
"Play nicely boys," chimed Heather mockingly.
And this would leave us with the infamous duo! Guaranteed to bring any substitute teacher, or anyone else, to their knees who dare defy them: Jason And Heather.
"Uhh...guys? I'd like to get home, oh I don't know today maybe?! Get your asses out of your lockers and lets go already, the busses are already gone"
"Whoa, chill a cycle there o' great leader Zeta," Rachaels' sneer nearly audible.
"Ugh, again with that." Always knowing exactly what to say to piss me off even more. Last month i had spent about 8-10 days trying to figure out a certain binary star in my horoscope that had my favorite colors: orange and green.

"Hey Atoli...Atoli? Atoliiiiii?....OI!"
"GAH! What, what, WHAT?! Don't poke me in the ribs, you know I can't stand that Heather!"
"Yeah I know," Heather said grinning. "But why all of the silence lately? You're usually kinda loud, what's up?"
"Thanks. Whatever, I was thinking -"
"About a boyfriend?!" Erik gasped. "Sorry, I don't like you like that."
"In your dreams loverboy. Anyways. I was thinking about that house down there," she said pointing down the hill leading out to our neighborhood. "The cathedral thing down there. I've heard some really strange rumors about it and decided to do some digging on it. It's been abandoned for a very long time now and the only reason it's still standing is because of the state claiming it's a 'landmark' of some kind. So i asked my dad, seeing as he's a cop, it would be natural for him to know more and have access to the info on it. He's been snooping for a day now so it's only a matter of time but one thing's for sure. Something went down in that house, but nobody knows what." Atoli paused.
I felt cold shoot through me as my imagination filled in the blanks.
(more on the way for the first chapter, very close to the end though)
